my hubby of 16 yrs has told me little white lies and has kept stuff from me a few times(nothing bad or about me). we have talked about this and he promised not to do this anymore but he made the same promise before too so not sure if he can keep this promise again..so is there anyway u can tell if a person is lying

I have been told that you can look at their body language. You can look this up on the net (do a search for body language) and read up on things that people have a tendency to do when they are being dishonest.
I think you also need to talk with him again and let him know how you feel about this. He may need professional help to correct the problem.

It sounds like little white lies are common for him. This may be the way he was brought up. Some people don't even realize they are lying and one little lie builds on another. Sometimes a person avoids eye contact when lying, sometimes they look up when lying, and sometimes a person blinks their eyes a little bit too much when lying. Not lying is a matter of having a good character. Good character is essential in the business world if you are to be believed and trusted. If you love this man you will unfortunately have to tolerate this character flaw.

if it really bothers you and he wont stop then you should try marriage counciling
