I think one of the more empowering things about swimming on a team when you're growing up is that you learn to be comfortable with your body in a swim suit. You're working out all the time, are in way better shape than most people, have a great tan... in short, swimmers have great bodies. And when you're going to practice nearly daily, and hanging out with your swim team friends, they're going to see your body. That's just the way it goes.
So I would recommend relaxing a little bit. Wear the Speedo if that's what you want to wear, and especially if you're on a competitive team. Nothing looks dumber (to me) than a competitive swimmer wearing board shorts (or a girl swimmer wearing a string bikini).
Realize that your friends are probably as self-conscious as you are--the skinny ones probably worry about their arms being skinny, the in-shape ones wonder if anyone notices that zit on their shoulder, etc. Don't judge others, don't judge yourself--just enjoy the team and your friends, and have fun!

There is a kind of speedo that's like shorts, you can wear those. But it it helps, wear them. Don't care about what other thinks. I have a frind who wears long skin pants and swims just as good, and he ogt his best time wearing them too. Maybe those will help. But those long speedos cost like $100 and up. Whatever you think you need to do to better your competitive performance, don't be afraid to do it.
Good luck

Where the speedo. Competitive swimmers wear them. You will be just fine. Be comfortable with yourself and just focus on your swimming. Think about this.....I Lifeguard and teach swimming, and still swim competitively, that's how I met my G/F. Good Luck

i think of Lycra or Elastane Speedo form are greater solid. TYR seems somewhat looser setting up. coverage on the two is extraordinarily much equivalent. I desire Speedo over TYR, whether I actually have a number of the two. I in many situations purchase my fits off the clearance rack on the D&J activities save i visit in Wichita, so especially situations you get Speedo, especially situations you get TYR.

For races, wear a speedo or a jammer, and in practice do the same, except wear a drag suit over it.

i would recmond getting a jammer and wearing a regular swim suit over it. Then when you get in the pool pull off the regular swim suit and when you get back out put irt back on. That way your friends will understand with out being grossed out.

That's what speedo's are for, competitive swimming. Learn to ignore your swim team friends remarks, especially if they help. but please don't wear them anywhere else, because they are just too gross...........
