Global warming means a moving away from moderation in temperature and in the severity of storms.Weather patterns will shift from what has been considered as normal through recorded history.Wild oscillations in temperature, snowfall, rainfall and wind are due to instability caused by the general warming trend. It is a situation of imbalance. It may be unseasonably cold in one area and unseasonably warm in another.Eastern Canada has had a late arrival of winter. The point is that things are not normal ,weatherwise.

Global Warming just doesnt have in an instant. It takes many years and data to see whether its really happening or not. Global Warming is definatly occuring.

Proof: Icebergs are melting
Tempertures in a 100 year average is slowing increasing
Water Levels are increasing

If the temperatures in the winter season is cold for only this year, it does not mean that the earth is not warming up.

MYTH: Global warming can't be happening, since winters have been getting colder.

FACT: Winters have been getting warmer. Measurements show that Earth's climate has warmed overall over the past century, in all seasons, and in most regions. The skeptics mislead the public when they bill the winter of 2003-2004 as record cold in the northeastern United States. That winter was only the 33rd coldest in the region since records began in 1896. Furthermore, a single spell of cold weather in one small region is no indication of cooling of the global climate, which refers to a long-term average over the entire planet.

Don't know what weather report you've been watching, but the winter has been breaking records because it's been so warm. My gas bill has been $300 cheaper so far this year than last year. I live in Wisconsin (we know about cold in Wisconsin, cold and cheese...!) and we spent all of December above freezing!

Anyway, that's not the point. Even if this was the coldest or warmest winter on record, what matters is the general trend when you average everything out. And even after that, if the trend is warmer or colder (it turns out that world wide the trend has been toward warmer) even then you have to figure out what is causing the trend. Nature has cycles and some temperature changes are just part of those cycles.

This recent weather - Freezing here in California, no snow in Vermont, is not due to global warming but to an El Nino current in the equatorial pacific that caused major changes to weather globally.

New Report Has 'Smoking Gun' on Climate:

"Human-caused global warming is here, visible in the air, water and melting ice, and is destined to get much worse in the future, an authoritative global scientific report will warn next week."

Climate and weather are not the same thing. Weather is what is happening NOW, climate is the average over 30 years. The climate trend has been warming.
