Although your are correct mathematically, 300 is the common multiple of 20 & 75.But, your logically INCORRECT. If the 20th customer receives a $20 gift cert. and the 75 gets $75, it could be the same person. Your base your answer on one irrational thought, that the 20th and 75th customer(s) will never be different customers. This implies that the 20th customer will only visit the store every 20 times, and so on and so on. The same goes for the 75th customer. So it’s more logical to have the 20th customer come back, be the 75th customer before waiting to be the 300th customer. And even IF, and I stress that, the 1st $20 winner were to come back at 300, that person would have won a total two $20 and one $75 gift at that time, this leaving the store to decide is that customer the 300th, for a $20 cert. or the $75.so that customer could get stuck with on two $20 gifts, or only one of each, leaving the customer short changed by $20 or $75 ... and in that its easier to realize that the recipient of both certificates will come with the first 75 customers.
Live and learn... and try to keep up.

It's the lowest common multiple of 20 and 75. 75 doesn't work. 75*2 = 150 doesn't work. 75*3 doesn't work. 75*4 = 300 works because that is also a multiple of 20. So the 300th customer will get both cards. Do your own homework missy. You're lucky I'm in a time-wasting mood.

List all of the multiples of 20 and 75.
The first one that is the same is 300.
Although I don't get how someone can get both certificates, that is the answer for the multiples. Hope I helped.

It will be the 300th customer. In a column labeled $20, write down:
20
40
60
80 and so forth
Do the same with another column labeled $75 and write:
75
150
225
300
When you keep going on column one, you will find that 300 is the common number for both columns.
