The events occured around Adams, Tennessee. The Bell farm bordered the Red River which is the state lines for Kentucky and Tennessee due North of Nashville. My best friend had an interesting experience with what we believe was the spirit at the farm in the early '80's. It is said she had predicted she would return in the 1980's and many people claimed to have seen a young girl on the highway by the farm in the Summer of 1984. He was trying to find the cave on the farm where the spirit resided. He saw the girl on the road and talked to her before she disappeared.
As for the Blair Witch Project, in a "documentary" prior to the release of the movie, the Bell Witch was mentioned as the most authentic and documented occurance of a haunting in American history.
If you venture to the area of Adams, be careful. Strange things still happen there and many of the residents will not talk about the spirit. Research the websites so you will know what to expect and what not to do. You should be fine if you respect the situation and the people who still live there.
