Hey, I am upgrading my notebook ram to 1.4 gigabytes so that it can run vista ok. it cost 140 dollars for 1 gb of ram, so i want to sell my old stick of ram for about 65 dollars. also"

Is it worth to upgrade to 1.4 gb of ram, or should i stick with XP until my next computer? or does anyone know a cheaper place that sells memory? I used memory stock .

I don't think Vista is worth the upgrade right now -- it doesn't really offer much that can't be done by XP, XP will still be supported for a while, and the first Vista service pack will be out within a year. But if you do choose to upgrade to Vista, the extra RAM is worth it.

use the little static case that the ram you will get to pack the ram you will sell. it should be cheaper than a new stick or no one will buy it.

Vista has some good things and some bad things going for it. If you want to see all the fancy items, it is suggested that you go well above the minimum requirements of 512. It is suggested to get 1 GB. More is better, and when I upgrade my lappy I'll go for 2 Gigs before I even think about getting Vista.
