Why are the Saints called America's Team because of a storm. I feel bad for NO but the Cowboys are America's team. They had Katrina we Chicagoans had The Great Chicago Fire a few hundred years ago. Then after the game the Bears won and they are talking about about Cinderella after the presentation. WHY IN THE WORLD IS THIS!? They had a chance to leave.!!!!!11

The Cowboys are referred to America's team because of a name that they gave themselves. It wasn't something that America decided on.

As far as why people were rooting for them, people wanted to go with an underdog. It's no different than people rooting for George Mason last year in the Final Four. Most people's teams had been eliminated so they picked the lesser of all evils...a nice story.
