Read "Das Capital" written by Karl Marx. The ideal of communism is actually good; it wants to treat every one equally in a society.
The real problem is that it does not work due to the human nature.
The very same human nature that fails the ideology of communism boosts our capitalism because everyone works hard to get a piece of the pie. It drives and fuels our greed very well.

Listen to John Lennanons Song "Imagine" then tell me why it's bad...I honestly am not the biggest fan, but I don't see anything wrong with it...different people like different things and believe in different things...and communism (the true meaning) is more of an equal state of people..everyone shares the same amount of everything, as for the government controling businesses I don't agree...but I lso think pay should be based on how hard you work.
John Lennon
» Imagine
Imagine there's no heaven,
it's easy if you try,
no hell below us,
above us only sky.
Imagine all the people,
living for today yu-huh.
Imagine there's no countries,
it isn't hard to do,
nothing to kill or die for,
and no religion too.
Imagine all the people,
living life in peace... yu-huh.
You may say I'm a dreamer
but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us,
and the world will be as one.
Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
no need for greed or hunger,
a brotherhood of man.
Imagine all the people,
sharing all the world yu-huh.
You may say I'm a dreamer ...
but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us,
and the world will be as one.
Now that song does have a point if nobody belieed in anything or the same things then there'd be no conflict howevere, everyone's different and w/ out conflict everything would be boring, if everything was indeed the same...But people don't go for communism out of fear it just depends on who you are..We all can clealy see why John Lennon supports it..and they aren't bad reasons at all. I honestly think there should be a balance between Capitalism,Communism, and Socialism...but we all know that's probably never going to happen.
Now that's my opinion.

it seems to work in some countries better then other.
Karl Marx thought communism would take over the industrial nations like England, France, Germany, united states..but the countries like China and Cuba who were more backward and not industrialized seemed to be the biggest success stories.
Both Chinese and Cubans still embrace the Communist lifestyle and it does not look like its going to go away there.
So the statement it obviously does not work is not true as in some countries they need a dictator pull the country out of their economic chaos. Iraq? is another country who will have a hard time keeping democracy. But I hope I am wrong!

Communism involves fear. When you see people on FOX News saying they have been liberated by communism you got to wonder if they are saying that because someone is looking on. I think that people who support communism are not unlike you or I in the sense that they just don't want government *$!#%# with them, but what people need to understand is that there is a need to be brave. Just because communism or socialism still exists does not mean people in North Korea need cower inside their homes to preserve it. We, as a people that are the world, need to destroy communism and anything that resembles socialism. Maybe we will die today for it, but we will live tomorrow. And, tomorrow is the only thing this sorry world has to offer.

Communism is possible just improbable. You have to look at why people in the past have supported communism. When Lenin and his Bolshevik party gained power in November of 1917 he had a lot of support from the peasantry and urban workers. The war was causing food shortages, unemployment, grief, along with already occurring problems. The communist party promised change and like any human being we rally behind those who appear to hold our interests at best. The power hungry use communism to gain control look at Fidel and Chavez. I think a lot of Marxist ideas are brilliant but communism is the radical contortion of such ideas.

there is only one problem with communism(soviet version) is it's government system it puts almost total power in one man this is fine with people like Khrushchev he was good at running a socialist country he was not overbearing or stupid in his policy's but Starlin and Brezhnev were dangerous Starlin tried to create a police state and Brezhnev ruined all economical progress made by Khrushchev( he almost made the USSR over throw the USA as the world leading economy) this is not actually part of a true socialist government it's the why the Soviet union tried it
the collapse of the soviet union was caused by this failure but it does not prove that communism is a failure.

Because a TRUE communist country would be, for lack of another word, perfect. You take all the power, money, goods, services, property, etc... and divide it evenly amongst the people. There are no poor, there are no rich, everyone is equal.
Now the problem with it is once the government gets all the power, they never give it back. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
It is the purest form of government that will never work.

I totally agree with you. Communism is not meant to be supported. But I really can't think of anyone that would support communism?

Listen, why is it bad, ill tell you why. First off, everybody gets = pay. So that means the man lying on the couch sleeping gets paid the same the hard working man does, so pretty soon the hard working mans gonna go, oh, hes not working, why should i? Then chaos, anything that isn't democracy sucks

Communism has failed EVERYWHERE.
And still these little brat liberals want to try it.
Because: "it works in books, on paper".
I think that why Liberals like communism is because everyone would be "Equal". That is the liberals, and many Democrats', goal.
People who work hard, would not have any more that people who did not work at all.
That would "Be Fair".
