I already know I'm pregnant; 6 weeks. My sister in law was just talking to me about this the other day, and I wasn't quite sure!

Again, it's not me, lol...can't get pregnant again when you're already pregnant. She called me today and wanted to know because she had sex with her b/f yesterday, the condom broke, and today she started her period. I told her their best bet would be to get the day after pill if they don't want to get pregnant. But I thought it was a good question on whether or not it's likely!

You can get pregnant ANY TIME of the month. If you don't want to risk it, always use protection!

You would get pregnant any time/any day of the month, so that you will ought to regularly use protection in the occasion you do not wanna get pregnant. That said there are occasions when you're further prone to conceive than others. You ought to comprehend your mentrual cycle - this begins on the fundamental day of your interval and continues as much as the primary day of your subsequent interval. You might be most fertile at the time of ovulation, (when an egg is launched out of your ovaries) which often occurs 10-sixteen days prior than your subsequent interval begins. That is the time of the month when you find yourself certainly to get pregnant. Without problems earlier than your period, at some point of your interval and simply after your period are the situations when you find yourself least fertile and hence least prone to conceive nevertheless this does not indicate it are not able to or just isn't going to occur: it's now not not possible. If you are exceptionally worried about this go and get a being pregnant scan and put your mind to leisure. And in future perpetually use safety.

you cannot get pregnant the day before you start your period, (unless you majorly miscalculated)

the way a women's cycle works is your body ovulates and 14 days AFTER ovulation hormonal changes cause you to get your period.

you can only become pregnant when the egg is available (from ovulation till about 24 hours later) however sperm can live about 7 days inside your body so if you have sex one week before you ovulate it may be possible to become pregnant when an egg becomes available.

WOW I can't believe the number of women that are uneducated about how the menstural cyale works here is the medical info and a link please review it...
Most women have a period every 26-35 days. It is normal for a menstrual cycle to vary slightly in length from month to month. Menstrual cycles have two phases. The first phase may vary from 13-20 days in length and ends when ovulation occurs. This phase varies from one woman to another and may also differ slightly from month to month. The second phase is about the same length in all women. Generally, after ovulation occurs, the menses will start in 14 days.

Because of the confusion of the 28 day cycle, I will use a 30-day cycle to explain the pattern of ovulation. The first day of menstrual bleeding is counted as DAY ONE of the menstrual cycle. Menstrual bleeding usually lasts 3-5 days. By day nine, pituitary hormones begin to trigger the development of an egg in a follicle within the ovary. As a follicle ripens, it secretes estrogen, which begins to stimulate the development of a lining inside the uterus. Other pituitary hormones cause the egg to be released from the ovary (ovulation) on approximately day 16 of the cycle. For most women, ovulation does not cause any symptoms. Ovulation completes the first phase of the cycle. The egg travels through the fallopian tube toward the uterus. Simultaneously, during ovulation, the estrogen level drops and progesterone levels begin to rise. This causes additional changes in the uterine lining; preparing it for implantation should fertilization occur.

If sperm fertilizes the egg, it may implant in the thick, spongy lining that has been developing in the uterus. This may establish a pregnancy. If fertilization does not take place, the egg disintegrates within 2-3 days. The progesterone level drops as the egg disintegrates. About day 25-27, the spongy uterine lining begins to break down and in a few days is shed from the uterus as the next menstrual period begins, completing the second phase of the menstrual cycle.

If your periods are regular and you know when you will start, more than likely if you have intercourse the day before you are to start your period, you won't get pregnant. You only get pregnant if you ovulate which is usually mid-cycle. Lots of women ovulate at different times during their cycles so you would have to know your cycles well to know when you ovulate. How do you know you are getting your period tomorrow?

you can get pregnant any time during the month-even with your period. Play it safe-always use a contraceptive.

Jen Jen-most women ovulate around the 14th day-right in the middle of their cycle (14 days after the period begins)

Actually it is more likely than any other day because that is when a woman is ovulating. When woman are trying to get pregnant they do it around their period because it has higher chances. But good luck
