In my opinion, it just seems like a easy, no-brainer, get nothing done plan. It's just a slight tax break, making premiums non-deductable but raising the individual exemption with people who have health coverage. It smells funny.

BTW, I'm thinking of switching parties to the Democrats....

Funny wasn't it...it benefits the drug companies once a gain. Neocons hate Americans if they coincide with this plan. The returning wounded aren't going to benefit from this for fighting the Republican war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bush kicks them to the curb as handicapped civilians.

And this type of proposal from a group of people who get some of the best benefits in the US.

Update: I just looked a synopsis of the plan. What a joke-
Where do I start--
First - Raise taxes, yep, the repubs want to raise taxes on you if you already are covered (ok, over 15k of value-- still a tax increase)

Second- tax break for those who buy their own. Ok, I can deal wit that BUT... Most people who would have to buy thier own, can't afford it anyway. That's why they don't have health insurance. So a 10%-35% tax break (that's what they'd get back) won't help that much. It especially doesn't help those in the 10-15% tax brackets. Individual rates for a family are easily in the $8k+ range per year.

He's such a dumb-a**. They're not addressing the root causes of the problem here-- the ever rising cost of health care. Insurance is only one piece of the puzzle.

The people who benefit from this are the insurance companies. The tax payer gets little out of this and the gov will likely lose revenue given the tax deduction (unless its offset by NEW taxes of course)

Making coverage deductible is a sturdy thought. association plans exist already. merchandising technologies is sturdy. The "epidemic of junk medical lawsuits" is in fact a crock of bull, a talking element, it extremely is extremely approximately preserving huge Pharmaceutical companies, wellbeing facility companies and HMO's from criminal duty for negligence and malfeasance. playstation I ignored coverage companies "it may take the President below a minute to discover the variety of physicians is on the upward push, no longer declining, and that the explanation for inflated malpractice coverage rates is right this moment subsequently of coverage industry greed. Bush carelessly throws around words like 'junk lawsuits.' however the civil justice device he's attacking protects families who lose babies because of the fact the effect of medical negligence and sufferers who go through devastating injuries -- all of whom deserve duty. So curiously the 'plethora of lawsuits' the President stated could desire to be buried obtainable someplace with the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq."

These guys aren't even bothering to hide their arrogance.

This is an additional bone to the rich, allowing them another tax break.
It only works for people that can afford to pay into the program.

If Bush thought it up, you can bet it doesnt benefit Joe America....only the corporations.

You know, I'm so sour on this MF at this point, he could call me up personally and offer me a million dollars, no strings attached.....and I'd still think he was trying to hump me somehow.

It's a joke. Bush never worked a day in his life and has no idea what it's like to have no insurance to pay for doctors or no money for prescriptions. I can't even look at the brainless twerp anymore.

Thinking about switching? Its about time don't you think?!

"The decider" hasn't (and won't) do squat for you or me! Unless, you or I happen to be stuffing his pockets with wads of cash!

This presidency was bought and we the people have been sold.
