They read the same amount, or I think that's where you were going! Reduce the fraction down to it's lowest form-2/8 is easy as you just divide both top and bottom by 2 to get 1/4 which is the same obviously as Mary's reading amount!

I don't see the rest of your question posted - but 1/4 and 2/8 are the same amount.

1/4 is the same as 2/8ths. 8 divided by two is four which would leave 1/4th

well, i dont know what ur question is, but 2/8 is equivalent to 1/4...its the reduction of it.
