Alexander Graham Bell wanted to see people get up during their dinner, so he invented the phone. His assistant created the phone solicitor who calls you while you're eating dinner. Later on in life a gentleman who we shall call John put his 2 cents worth in, and that's why you get the calls in the crapper. His brother didn't want to be left out, so he made the phone ring everytime his wife got in a nice hot bathtub. Then came the zero population growth people, and they are the ones who started calling people in their most intimate moments. Not to be outdone was their cousin who could never do anything right, he invented the wrong number. So, as you can see, there were a few people involved. Now, if you'll excuse me, my bathroom phone is ringing.

Alexander Graham Bell, however there are other scientists who contributed to the telephone's invention, they just weren't accredited as Alex did. Just look it up, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
