I won tickets to the Super Bowl and want to give them to my hubby for an early Valentine's Day gift, and then do something small together on valentine's day, like dinner or something. Is it cheap of me to give him the tickets as a gift even though I won them? (I won't be going with him; it's him and his dad. I could care less about football.) He has no idea. The airfare and accomodations aren't covered but I plan on reserving them as part of the gift. Or should I just give them to him as a "just because" present and do something else for Valentine's? I'm in a quandary!

Honey, you got Superbowl tickets! Give the gift. If he's a big fan, you could kick him in the nuts on Valentines day and he'll still be grateful.

you will be paying the bill for the accomodations and airfare as well since it will be paid out of the family money, so tell him it is an early Valentines day present and he will probably take care of Valentines day by trying to find something special for you then, You can still get him something on Valentines day as well but it can be a token present rather than what you might have spent had you not won the tickets.

Give them to him and tell him you won them but they are an early Valentine`s present. I`m sure he won`t mind after all he gets to go with his Dad and tell him that the two of you can have a very special dinner on Valentine`s Day. It is a very sweet gesture.

No not really as you won them and they are worth alot of money... It is the thought that counts not the cost... You may however want to buy him a nice romantic card though just because you love him:) This is not cheap at all... This is a great gift and idea. I wish you the best and Happy Valentines day to both of you!

I think it is a very thoughtful early Valentine's Day gift. Not "cheap" at all. Valentine's Day has become to commercialized lately. It is the thought and sentiment behind the gift, not the price tag.
So find him a nice Valentine's Day card to put them in, and surprise him!

I think your gift is nice. I would spice it up on Valentine's Day after taking him to a great restaurant.

Are you kidding me! If it was my wife I would tell her she could skip my birthday and Christmas gifts for many years. He will love the tickets.

He'll be totally excited and thankful regardless of whether an alien beemed them down to you or if you won or bought them.
