Go to the doctor if your child has an infection that has not healed for months. If he loses his vision, you'll be explaining your parenting skills to the department of social services. If it's got pus, it's an infection.
Normally, a lump near the eye is called a stye and is a self-limiting inflammation- a warm compress or a warm (not hot) tea bag held on for about 5 minutes several times a day will help speed the healing.
But lumps with pus need to be checked- he may need an antibiotic ointment. And people on the internet are not allowed to prescribe antibiotics.
Make the call and get him in! Hope it clears:)

What you have been diagnosed with is plugged oil glands and they vary in size that look similar to little pimples along your lashes or closely near them. They can become red, larger & swollen and then they are more commonly called a chalazion or hordeolum. That is usually when a minor surgical proceedure would be done on the inner side of your lid and under normal circumstances an incision or scar would not be visible. I would recommend that you do not wear eyeliner or mascara for the next few months, throw away your eyemake-up (get new stuff when they go away), use a Q-tip and gently rub the baby shampoo along your upper and lower lids and rinse well, and make sure you use warm compresses everyday as many times as you can at least 4-6 times a day, more if you can and after the warm compresses do a gentle massage under the little bumps. If the little bumps are not bothering you, besides the way they look then be patient. They can be very stubborn and can take more than six months to get smaller or go away.

It might be a good idea to take him to the Doctor. An infection that close to his eye could effect his eye sight...long term.

it could be a stye which will go away with stye the medicine works for me or it could be a sist which have to be frozen off but neither have any affect on your health so dont worry unless your going to the doctor and he will probally just freeze it off which takes seceonds.

It almost sounds like a clogged tear duct. Just have a physician check it out. They may send you to a specialist.

My DH would get them and sometimes they went away, but this last time he had to have it removed by the dermatologist...pretty painless he said. HTH.
