to go to bed with such strong feelings and they seemed to fade in the morning (as if they didn't really matter anymore)? Can you explain this?

Yes....that is why for all big decisions I do as they say and sleep on it.
If you are doing nothing but dwelling on something, your mind will of course have strong feelings about it. If you let your mind rest, it might decide it is not as big of a deal.

Yes it has happened to me before, I think when you go to sleep your body is relaxed and you go to sleep you forget about what was on you mind, because if you don't get it off of your mind then you can't sleep you will be turning in the bed all night long.

Happens to me every time I drink one beer too many!

Other times it has happened when I've concentrated on that particular "thing" so intensely that I've kind of burnt myself out over it.

Just wake up one day and feel sort of numb or removed from the subject. Maybe it's a defense mechanism kicking in? It does tend to happen over things that either scare me or that makes me feel powerless over.

Yes. I think your feelings just sort of fade once you go to sleep.

yep. I could not sleep that deeply last night. I woke up exhausted and could care less about what I was thinking before I went to bed. Who knows....different day, different attitude.

You relax when you sleep. Your mind goes over all your day's events and filters them. this is probably why when you wake up you have no feelings. Your mind purposely figures them out while your asleep.

Maybe it's just something that you realized in your sleep wasn't really important. It's happened to me a few times.
