Sounds like an allergic reaction, I would call his doctor.

Totally normal for your child to get shots around this age from your doctor. Not normal to have red bumps. I would like to say that it could be a side affect or allergy from the shots but you won' really know unless you bring him back into the doctors!
If he is having an allergic reaction, it could be hives but the reaction could get worse the more the medication is obsorbed into the body, that means his throat could swell up and he could have a hard time breathing. Take him back in no matter what, it could also be chicken poxs, bumps on the stomach and chest is usually where it starts.

At 12 months he would have gotten his MMR (measles, mumps, rubella). Since the measles shot is actually a live virus, it's very common for children to get measles and other strange reactions after the shot, or he could be reacting to any of the preservatives in the shots. The CDC has a program called VAERS (The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) where you can search according to vaccine and view thousands of cases of reactions.

My daughter just had her 12 month shots as well and we were warned she would probably break-out in a heat-rash looking thing in the coming weeks. As it's summer in Sydney, she's already a bit spotty, so we're unsure if it's the reaction to the vaccine or to the heat. But, as always, if there is a concern, going to your gp is the safest bet.

how long ago were the shots? if a few days or a week, i would take him into the doc to be safe. sounds like he's having an allergic reaction to something, although it doesn't sound serious on here. could be washing powder, lotion, new food, anything - kids can turn on and turn off allergies like a tap lol. keep an eye on his temp and watch for diarrhea. my kid had rashes and reactions to just about everything. for him, Glaxal base cream worked best on those areas to relieve the issue.

It's probably just a reaction, or like the person above me said a heat rash. I always got rashes as a baby when I was sick.

My baby (2 months) had the same reash. it turned out to be his formula (Good Start) and we switched to Enfamil and with in 24 hour it was gone. I also only washed him with water for a couple of days applied A&D ointment to the rashes (as per DR). so just call your pediatrician and ask him or her what you should do...It'll also save you for having to pay for an office visit.

Certain types of baby lotion would cause my daughter to break out. Either way, sounds like an allergic reaction.

perhaps your baby is breaking out as in hes got a rash..
maybe hes allergic to food or either hes allergic to something your doctor gave him. you should rpobably take him to the ER and make sure his throat doesn't swell up.

It could be mild reaction to the shots or heat rash.
