I'm NOT trying to convince you and as a fan, I actually hope that it isn't rigged in any way.

However last SB there were two impossibly, ridiculously terrible calls that even the majority of sports commentators and professionals felt were unbelievably WRONG! They did tend to change the momentum of the game. The NFL made MILLIONS more in revenues because of a Steeler's victory.

The stupid call in the Saint's game that allowed the ball to be declared a fumble, when it was clearly stripped long AFTER the runner was down by contact is another example. The NFL actually made MORE MONEY with a Bear's victory.

These calls were disgraceful for ANY game, but in key playoffs and SBs they are inexcusable. When the NFL itself benefits from these terrible calls, well just color me suspicious..........

(and to all you ******* who constantly mention that only the losers complain, of course only the losers complain! Why should the winners complain? The NFL has stiff penalties for complaints, you know! In the old Soviet Union the ones who WEREN'T taken by the KGB in the middle of the night never called up to complain.....)

I suppose it matters what type of rigging you're referring to. Sorry to answer your question with another question, but do you mean rigged for game outcomes or rigged for sports betting? To me those are pretty different, and the sports betting rigging could happen often without letting games go the other way.

On top of that clarification I have nothing to add except that it seems like it wouldn't make sense to rig the games. There are bad calls here and there but why would a player not want to win games, extend contracts, make more money, be famous, etc...?

The weakest link in a chain marks it's total strength!

Therefore taking into account that NFL referees are part time employees that only work 4 months out of the year (most are retaired lawyers or judges) and their training is not rigurous, many bad or questionable calls are made suring a game, usually against the team or player with lesser reputation, example after Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers spiked the ball in the last seconds of the game a Patriot defensive player hit him in the face, there was no call. had that been Brady or Manning another yellow rag would have been involved. Is it rigged? no professional refeeres make's it easier to get a favorable result (over-- under, point spread) allowing players that are busted using steroids (Merriman) to continue to play and not enforcing the rules (5 yards maximum allowed contact for WR) makes me suspect that some sorth of cheating could be going on.. just my take

Well the NFL is a business and the owners have control, so if the owners agree a certain team that is struggling to sell tickets or having certain teams in the super bowl would up their profits, they could most certainly do that. They could tell the coach they would like to have certain plays called or have the head of the officiating team tell the official on the field that a certain team are getting away with to may holding calls or to that effect and to flag them on plays that don't seem normal. In business profit is the key, look at the history the NFL made this weekend, so this some of the ways it could be done

It's not rigged. The only possible explainations could be that they want the larger viewing areas to win to increase their ratings which would increase their ad revenues. Most of the TV contracts are signed years in advance so this argument doesn't hold up. The other argument is that Vegas/bookies/Mob people have their hooks in players/coaches, etc. That may happen occassionally, but it seems far fetched for that to be an every day occurence.

All of the time you get those games where it's no chance for a team to win and they lose by 2. I actually did believe the Bears Cards game was rigged. How they set it up. Like Well they've shocked the world mine as well quit.
