NEVER!

Would you open something in the mail addressed to him?

Same thing.

Yes it is proper. What would you be putting on email that you would not share?
The radio report on 2 minutes before I came in here said email is like putting it in the New York Times. There really is no privacy.
If you must keep secrets do not write them down.

It should be the only way a husband and wife should have an e-mail account for personal use. A husband and wife should never have anything to hide from one another.

If you have nothing to hide from him and he has nothing to hide from you...then there should not be a problem. Out of respect for each others privacy, though, it should be something that you both agree on 100 percent. Without trust in a relationship, there is no good relationship.

My husband & I have eachother's passwords. We have a very trusting and honest, respectful marriage so neither one of us has anything to hide. The only people that try to hide something from their spouse are those that are up to no good and deceptive. If you can't trust your spouse why be together.

We have each other's email passwords. I had his w/out consent because I was suspicious. People with nothing to hide, hide nothing.

I SHARE QUITE A FEW EMAILS WITH MY HUSBAND, BUT HE DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS. I AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN TRUST. NO TRUST? NO RELATIONSHIP! PERIOD. IF YOU WANT TO GIVE HIM ACCESS, FINE. IF NOT, HE SHOULD UNDERSTAND. THIS SHOULD WORK BOTH WAYS. NEITHER SHOULD HAVE ACCESS WITHOUT CONSENT. IF THIS IS GOING ON, CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD!

NO, it's NOT PROPER for anyone to have access to anyone's private correspondence WITHOUT CONSENT.

The only time I can think that it's okay to acccess someone's mail/email is a parent accessing their children who are under 18.

It is proper and he should be able to have access to your email... What are you trying to hide from him? If you have nothing to hide why should it matter if he can access your email or not.

Yes, if both parties agree. Otherwise, no.

Change your password if you don't have an agreement for him to access your email.
