It sounds like it might be a blocked duct. My daughter had one. It was really yellow/green nasty in the mornings, but continued through the day with the discharge. After several months, the pediatrician saw it wasn't clearing up and sent us to a pediatric eye specialist. He recommended having the tear ducts irrigated. We did, and it was better that evening.

Try massaging near the duct first. Every day, whenever you think about it. Sometimes this loosens the blockage. Talk to the pediatrician! Good luck!

She has some bacteria in her eye which is easy to clean.

Wash your hands very well and clean the babys face with a warm face cloth, then using wet cotton rounds wipe the eyes clean from the inside sweeping outward.

Another trick you can try (my mom did this when my little one was about 3 weeks old) add a few drops of Eye Drops onto the wet cotton round to clean the eyes. This handled the discharge within a day or two.

You will know Pink Eye when you see it, the discharge is extreme and the eye is PINK and swollen, sometimes they can barely open the eye.

My baby was born with a blocked tear duct..she had the same problem until she was about 2months old..then it went away. A week later the other eye had the same condition for about a week and it went away...The first eye was a blocked tear duct the second eye was a cold in her eye so it could be either of those..if she was born with it likely a blocked duct that goes away on its own most of the time or else a cold in her eye which will go away w/in a week or so depending on how long the cold lasts.

Sounds like conjuctavitis. Get some eye drops from the doctor. In the meantime, wiping each eye with a SEPARATE piece of cotton wool dipped in warm water will stop them clogging. Go from the nose outward and downward.

Green discharge is no good...take your baby to the doctor. Maybe it's an infection

this is most likely eye infection, and you should take her to see a doctor. your eyes don't have to be red in order for infection to be going on. it may have started out as allergy, but allergy leads to irritation, and irritation leads to infection. and for now you can make her more comfortable by using warm wash cloths to loosen and remove the the gunky stuff. her doctor will probably prescribe an antibiotic ointment or drops to be put in her eyes. and if you have the choice, try to get him/her to prescribe the ointment. it stays in the eye a lot better than drops, and usually does not burn like drops can.
Hope your little one feels better soon.

Children under a year old do not have developed tear ducts. It is normal to have some discharge. Due to it being green, I suggest you contact your Dr.

Just a passing thought - sometimes cigarette smoke can cause a greenish discharge when combined with fluids in the body.

could be allergies, an infection of some kind, or early stages of pink eye (I've had it 3 times since Sept and that's how it starts for me). I would go to the Dr. though if it doesn't let up.
