well, no lawyer is going to take your case now since you admitted fault.

Just pay the damages of the person you hurt and repair and go on with your life.

This answer applies in BC and AB.

Do NOT make any voluntary statements, either orally or in writing and do NOT admit fault!

If you can afford to do so, hire a lawyer. You'll be paying on an hourly basis. If you cannot afford a lawyer, call Legal Aid. If Legal Aid won't help, contact a faculty of law (law school) and see if a student can help.

You could be on the receiving end of a large judgment. Contact a trustee in bankruptcy and get some information in case you have to go that route.

In future, BUY INSURANCE OR STAY OFF THE ROAD.

First of all no fault insurance will pay if you don't have the money. And also the court will assign you a lawyer to, if your not able to afford it. I can tell you what the fine is for not having insurance, its 5000.00 and if you can't pay the interest will drive up the costs accordingly. You don't need a lawyer to plead guilty. You may find that they may suspend your driving privileges as well. Its hard lesson to learn and I hope it was worth it.

About the only suggestion that I would have for you is to call your local legal aid service to see what help you can get. You are
not entitled to appointed counsel in a civil case, so legal aid is going to be the place to go.
By the way, stop admitting fault in advance of the fact. because an admission like that not made in conjunction with a
settlement negotiation is an exception to the hearsay rule, and
admissible against you.
If you succeed in getting counsel, your counsel can negotiate a deal with the plaintiff which will end up costing you less because the plaintiff doesnt want to try the case unless they have to. In fact, only about 2% of all cases filed go to trial.

Call your local state bar for a list of attorneys in your area that specialize in personal injury. It will cost you but you need to make sure that you protect yourself because you don't have insurance.

Everyone makes mistakes and unfortunately you learned the hard way. But not having insurance does not mean that you don't have the right to be protected. I strongly urge you to seek legal advice.
