they are saying that this boyfriend is a total nerd and dork.they are refering to emo phillips the comedian. who acts like a total space shot look him up on wikapedia .com. its not a compliment thats for sure

While emos are decidedly Not like everyone else, they are close enough that just being your sweet self ought to be enough for the right one. It does help to adapt a bit of the style, too. Many dress the way they do because they find it attractive.

Emo=Emotional
This can stand for a wide range of things but for a teen it mainly is for the Punk rock music genre and for a style of fashion. Dark atire, but not goth.
