I remember in high school, all my teachers kept telling me "just wait til you get in the real world".
Why do I bring this up? The workplace is exactly like high school. The same petty gossip and backstabbing that took place takes place in the real world. This is why some coworkers can't be trusted.
They think that sucking RICHARD gets them a promotion, but all they get is a bad taste in their mouth.

There are many I distrust. I guess people usually aren't trusting until they get to know someone. Another reason is that some people just seem really shady, and sometimes people did things in their pasts that make them seem untrustworthy (such as cheating on a partner). I guess everyone has a kind of "spider-sense" when it comes to trusting people (some peoples' work quite well while others have a little trouble figuring out how to make it work).

The issue that loses my trust faster than anything is catching someone in a lie. The folks I distrust take the shortcuts, cheat, or blame their problems on everyone else but themselves.

Inside of a work place, you would be a fool to 100% trust anybody. Only for the fact that this is the real world. People will be out to stab you in the back if it helps them look better. You have heard of DTA(don't trust anybody) but there is a counter to that saying. It is: CYA,(cover your a ss).

DTA (Don't trust anybody), even the ones that like you will gossip about your business.
The work place is a jungle, man, survival of the fittest.
