People like Jade Goody (urrrgggghh) get to be "celebrities" just because they go into a a studio for a length of time when she cant do anything but open her big flappy gob.what right did her even worse lookin mother have to be there??? she not fit to lick their boots!

It depends on your definition of celebrity. It does not depend on talent but on whether you are famous or not. Look at people like Paris Hilton, the WAGs, Davina Macall (who basically has the talent to read an autocue and gurn, something that any six year old can do), Prince Phillip (make racist comments, eat swan, shake hands), Pete Docherty (take drugs, gob, smoke), Kate Moss (wear clothes and walk at the same time - gosh some talent) et al ad nauseum, they are famous as a result of an accident of birth rather than any virtue or talent.
Diana did a good job of it, she obtained her fame and fortune as an accident rather than by virture of intelligence, her princess of hearts thing was pure PR and her vacant look could only have fooled the totally idiotic as a look of caring. I think good on jade, she is working class and one of us, sharing some of our values and foiables and not hiding behind some false sense of etiquette and mannerisms. She deserves celebrity as a form of democratisation of the commodity of fame. It should not be reserved for talentless middle and upper class people or the ambitious nouveau riche stage school kids who have substituted ambition for talent. They are less deserving of any form of fame than Jade, she deserves it, she does not have any of the trappings of traditional celebrity and as such she has shown celebrity up for the shallow and elitist thing it is.
Who do you think deserves fame more Jade who has nothing in her life apart from stupidity or Paris Hilton or any of the WAGs or the load of talentless monied overpaid people who do not do one iota for holding up the fabric of society. Jade has shown that even the streep sweeper who keeps streets clean and the multitude of unsung working class people can someday aspire to fame and fortune as much as any one else, and for this reason she should be celebrated.

callum best peaches geldof abi titmus vicky adams etc there are f*cking loads of them get a pr person and a mate with a camera or easier shag one of them just like getting hiv.real talent and skills go unnoticed in this day and age got a lot to do with ok hello allright magazines......
