microphone is not working?

i can hear people but they can not hear me audio is enabled how do i fix this

Check the levels on your on-board mixer.
In Windows that would be something like: START, All programs, accessories, entertainment, volume control.
Check the 'record' level I think rather than the 'playback' level.
