Yes. They will attempt to draw another country into a conflict by conducting a small-scale attack and then say it was in defense (ala "Gulf of Tonkin"). They've done it before and they have the will and gall so I am certain they will do it again.
Who? Iran, North Korea, Syria, Sudan, Cuba, Venezuela are the likely candidates but...
But, the problem is that Iran has a real military capability (as opposed to Iraq, Afghanistan, or even North Vietnam).
So, they may conduct a Gulf of Tonkin style operation against a smaller country (about 6-8 months before the election). Perhaps Sudan, Syria, Venezuela or even Southern Lebanon (finish the job the IDF started). It is unlikely that the neo-cons are stupid enough to attack Iran. They have more troops, the country is vast, and they have nukes (as well as chemical weapons).
My pick is that they will start something with Venezuela. Perhaps bomb Guantanamo and say that Venezuela did it.

FORE! You mean, I assume the Gulf of Tonkin. The Gulf of Tonkin Incident was an alleged pair of attacks (the second of which may or may not have been a false alarm) by naval forces of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam against two American destroyers, the USS Maddox and the USS Turner Joy. The attacks occurred on 2 and 4 August 1964 in the Gulf of Tonkin. Later research, including a report released in 2005 by the National Security Agency, indicated that the second attack did not occur, but also attempted to dispel the long-standing assumption that members of the administration of President Lyndon B. Johnson had knowingly lied about the nature of the incident.[1]
The outcome of the incident was the passage of the Southeast Asia Resolution (better known as the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which granted Johnson the authority to assist any Southeast Asian country whose governments were jeopardized by communist aggression and which served as Johnson's legal justification escalating American involvement in the Vietnam Conflict.
Personally, I don't see the connection to this Democrat President's actions and any actions today, but if you mean that we might move to protect another country (or our own) against aggression from a 3rd party, well, I'd hope so---regardless of any 20/20 hindsight second guessing.

You know, I've not received my Tonkin Country Club golf shirt in the mail yet. I guess I'd better call them before war is declared.

i think that Iran is operating on an a-bomb, and could probable have some in time. the concept they could use this variety of component is what makes no experience. in the adventure that they attacked Israel with nukes they could ruin that usa, yet Israel has that's nukes on submarines contained in the Mediterranean......the might want to retaliate and which will be the end of Iran. They recognize this....all of us recognize this and Israel is conscious this. If Israel felt threatened they could strike first with their nukes lengthy earlier Iran might want to honestly placed a guns gadget jointly. for sure everybody might want to be throughout Israel, yet what else is new? Israel's nationwide motto is 'not in any respect lower back'. I supect that at the same time they wiped out Iran they could wipe out each and every of the threatening countries contained in the middle east...merely to be particular that no one might want to be n a position to take income of the problem.. I do imagine that the GOP/Tea/Fox/Jesus freak party might want to love a conflict....there is a few thing nuts about those human beings. there is not any longer some thing nuts about the Israelis....they recognize the position this would bypass.....they are no longer going to allow Iran to stay no count number what some thing else of the international thinks. some thing else of the international ought to line up tottaly with Israel and attempt to get the Iranian to end doing what their doing. Radioactive fallout would not end a nationwide borders.
