I have the Norton Internet Security and I still got a virus. It is called the Trojan.Peacomm? What is this and how can I get rid of it? When I go to "protect me from the virus" it tells me to get a purchase a new program. I think it happend because of Ares. Whenever I turn my firewall off to download movies and songs etc problems occur with the computer. This is the first time this is happening! so I need as much help as i can possibly get! My main question is how do i get rid of the virus and would i be able to find out what site or program the virus came from? Thankyou for everyones help!

Peacomm is a trojan that downloads from the Internet and installs other malicious parasites. It also injects malicious code into legitimate system processes and executes commands received from a remote server controlling it. The trojan runs as a service on every Windows startup.

Peacomm usually arrives attached to bogus e-mail messages.

norton works with viruses only, and you need an antispyware to fight these things. actually Peacomm installs only a few files on a computer and you can remove them byself. here's a removal instructions:

You will never figure out where it came from, so lets focus on cleaning it up.

Update and run your Anti-Virus program. Don't have one? You can run a free online scan from CA.
