Try resetting you router by accessing the reset button that is at the back of the router. press and hold on to that switch until the light in the front blink five or six times and then power it down and again turn it up and connect it your computer...it should do it.

If this is new (has it ever worked?) - I know a guy who had the same problem and I had him bring the router back to the store for an exchange. When the guy examined it, Netgear had put the wrong cable in the box. It needs to be a twisted cable. I wondered how many other people are going to have the same problem if they put the wrong cable in the boxes. His was a new G router too.....

If it's new, try bringing it back. If your internet is working without the router, then there's a good possibility it's the cable. ALSO, if you have norton running, norton could be blocking the router. Norton does some nasty stuff - I took it off my 3 computers and sent it back for a refund.
