A friend of mine just divorced his wife. He has sole custody of their 3 children and he filed for child support. Well, when his ex-wife found out he was doing this, she called him and cussed him out. Then in the next breath, she says "Women don't pay child support". How stupid is that to say? they've been seperated for a couple years and divorced for 2 months. In that time, the kids have lived with him and she's done nothing to support them.

A woman has to pay child support just like a man. The parent that has physical custody of the children and provides them a home, no matter whether it is the man or the woman, is legally capable of receiving child support. Both parents contributed to having the children and both parents, no matter what, should contribute to their financial support. When your friend got the divorce, he should have had it put in the divorce decree, but he can still have it ordered.

Women do pay child support. The non custodial parent is responsible for the children in this way. She has another thing coming if she thinks she can get out of it.

Whoever does not have custody, pays support. Doesn't matter if they're male, female, or transgendered. One of my friends has sole custody of his kids, and his wife pays him child support... granted it's a paltry $150 a month for TWO KIDS, but she manages to stay unemployeed most of the time and the support is a certain percentage of her earnings rather than a set amount.

Of course women have to pay child support if they don't have custody of the children. It works both ways. You just hear about men more often because women generally have custody of the kids...

this all depends if the woman has a job or not... If she is working and not living with the kids full time then she needs to pay child support just like a man would.

Your friend's ex probably is ignorant, because the only thing she knows is what sees, example, you usually hear of the man paying and the woman taking care. That whats the ex thinks and that s what she will until proven otherwise. Get your friend to file for child support and we'll see if men can only pay for it.

My ex and I have 50-50 custody and she pays me child support. It is only 40 dollars a month, but it is what the court said, so we follow it. I put the money in a savings account for my daughter. I gave deposit slips to the ex and she just writes the check out to our daughters name and deposits the money without even having to give it to me directly. Good Luck

Women are subject to child support laws, just like any other non-custodial parent.
