Burning a CD means putting data onto a blank CD. You can do that buy copying a CD to it or by putting other data on it like pictures, music you've downloaded form the internet, videos, Word documents, anything.

Burning a CD means that you're saving your files to that CD.
Copying a CD means that you're taking info from a CD, and making a copy of it...You can burn this data to another CD, or you can store the info on your computer.

Copying, is illegal. Burning, is not as long as you just use it for YOU. Maybe a few friends & family too.

burning is putting info on. ripping is taking info off.
