Snakes go into a state called brumation around this time of year...it's kinda like hibernating. Snakes sometimes stop eating from September until March during this time, even if you didn't stimulate brumation in your snake by dropping its temperature. Also, you don't have to worry that your snake hasn't eaten. Snakes are able to go for months without food. I've read that the record is 22 months...but I don't know how truthful that claim is. Just keep an eye on your snakes weight. If it loses 20% of its original weight then I recommend taking your snake to the vet but for now, don't worry.

A lot of snakes will sometimes skip a meal or two, i have a Ball Python that sometimes does this, and i know that this particular breed has been known to skip meals sometimes to the point of starving themselves. I would'nt worry too much about it, but if it continues i would maybe consider force feeding it or give your local vet a call and they should be able to help you out.

our snake wont eat through winter so i wpoldn't worry about it. just keep offering the food to it. if the rat is alive don't leave it in the tank with ur snake because it might hurt him (sounds stupid i know, but it can happen)

Maybe try warming the rat up in warm water? (Don't microwave it) Hold it in a pair of pliars so you don't get bitten and wiggle it around by the tail? If you've got a strong stomach you can poke a hole in the top of its head so the snake can smell brains.
