Last night I was writing my term paper for one of my AP classes and I saved it to my Lexar flash drive and everything worked fine. Then this morning when I went to school to print it out, the computer would not even respond to it, it did not even have an error message or show anything in my computer. I came back home and then it did not work there. I really have no clue becuase I am in tears because I have all my college app.essays on it and this term paper which is huge. Also, I always properly disconecct it from my pc. It just baffles me, it is only a year old. Please help!

if it doesn't work on multiple computers you are probably in trouble. look on the lexar site and see if they have any new drivers you can try. send an email to lexar explaining your problem, they might have suggestions.

Also, flash memory is solid state, magnetic fields will not affect it.

It could be that you're using XP one one computer and stuck the flash drive in a computer running 98 or 2000. Have you used it previously on the 2nd computer?

I don't think I'd ever use a flash drive as my only drive I keep documents. Typically they're nice for an Xtra copy. There may be a way a tech would be able to access the flash drive or something they do to copy information. Not really sure - if something is really wrong with it. Did you have it near anything magnetic????

If your computer has an AMD CPU, and Viatech USB Host Controllers; changing the USB Host Controller drivers to standard or generic drivers, may work. Sometimes, putting a line in config.sys, helps. ie. "lastdrive=m"
