May 31, 1935: Jews barred from serving in the German armed forces
July 1936: Sachsenhausen concentration camp opens
November 9-10, 1938: Kristallnacht Night of broken glass
September 1, 1939: Beginning of WWII; Germany invades Poland
November 23, 1939: Jews in German-occupied Poland forced to wear an arm band or yellow star
May 20, 1940: Auschwitz concentration camp established

the judisches museum in berlin currently has an exhibit on the exile of jews to various lands leading up to the holocaust- many even went to shanghai! Thus your time line should include some general points related to the fact that that jews faced much persecution in Germany/Europe prior to1933 as well...
