I presume the Key board and the computer still work?

Then hook your laptop to an external monitor or even a TV, so you can see what your doing save to CD or DVD and your set to go.

If the computer doesn't work you could swap the drive out, and get an external case for 2.5" drive. Are you repairing it? If not just remove the drive, and keep it for a USB external drive.

If the two are the same model of Laptops, you can take the Hard Drive out of the bad one and insert it into the good one. Transfer the data you want to a flash drive, or external hard drive and then insert the new laptops hard drive back into it and move the files from the flash drive to the new laptop's hard drive.

Unless you have everything you need in shared folders on the old laptop, you will have a difficult time getting to all of your data by connecting the two computers.

Well, you can purchase a 2.5 inch external enclosure for the hard drive on the laptop with the coffee spill. Once you have installed the hard drive in to the enclosure, connect it to the new computer using a USB connection. Once connected, you should see the external hard drive under My Computer. You just have to copy the files from the laptop's hard drive to the local hard drive. The enclosure should cost you about $25.00 USD.
