If you're talking about the apparent position of the sun (not its "rays" -- that makes no sense)...

The answer is 23 1/2 degrees, the same as the tilt of the earth's axis. Over 1 year, the apparent position of the sun goes from 23 1/2 degrees NORTH latitude to 23 1/2 degrees SOUTH latitude, a change of 47 degrees. Over six months, the apparent change will be half of that.

Since the sun goes from the Tropic of Cancer to the Tropic of Capricorn and each is 45 degrees from the equator, it would have to be 90 degrees.
