1. Yes. My husband was brought up in very humble surroundings, and he is now a very successful Landscape Architect at an engineering firm. He put himself through school and is now reaping the benefits of hard work.
2. Personal Responsibility. People who want the government to take care of things don't know how to take care of themselves. IF YOU DON'T BELEIVE IN PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, THEN YOU CANNOT SHAPE YOUR OWN DESTINY!!!
3.Hey I can improve on that... your glass should always be half full. Sure it sucks... but you don't stop there.
4. Conservative.

While everyone is a product of their upbringing and environment, they are responsible for their own fate, to a degree. Someone born into poverty, for example, is less likely to be able to afford a top-end college. Someone born into poverty is more likely to spend the majority of their time fulfilling NEEDS and little time pursuing WANTS.

So:
1- yes and no. Everyone has the potential to shape their own destiny but sometimes accidents (illness, lay-off, etc.) happen.
2-To a minor degree, the government is responsible for the welfare of it's citizens, but, at some point, they need to say "enough" and cut the strings. I believe A, tempered with a small dose of B is best.
3-B then A. First step is to recognize the problem, then to fix it.
4-liberal

1. If you're tenacious enough you can shape your own destiny without much problem.

2. Personal responsibility, then a government to keep all the idiots in line. Pretty much like now, just less of the pure moral "No no, you can't do that to yourself" laws.

3. Tenacity is my friend, I rarely fail at fixing something so long as I feel it deserves fixing.

4. In the typical modern political sense, Liberal. Which roughly translates into not much change, and that which does happened is based in logic.

1. Shape own Destiny (yes) (no)

No, people are interdependant, not independant. A successful society isn't comprised of lone-rangers.

2. Do you believe in A.personal responsiblity or B.Government responsibility?

Both

3. Do you see a situation and say A."HEY - I can improve on that" OR do you say B."THAT sucks"

Yes!

A.

A.

Conservative...

A persons destiny is completely up to them, either they will set goals and be successful, or they will stay in the situation/class that they were born into and blame it on someone else!

When I was on the Democrat Plantation, I believed that:
I was a victim.
I was helpless.
I had no control over my life.
That the country owed me.
And that the taxpayers owed me.
I was a typical Democrat.

I escaped the Democrat Plantation, and am now ashamed that I was ever a Democrat.

Now, a Conservative.
