This a word document done in microsoft word. I really need to send it to my classroom in filename.doc. I have no idea how to do this.

Looks like your using Ms Office 2007. Open your document, and click SAVE AS.... look at the bottom where you can change the document name.

In the box UNDER that, you should see SAVE AS....... and pick MS word 2003 or MS Word 2000

I believe .docx is the new extension for MS Word 2007. Microsoft has a converter you can download (or so I have read in newsletters from Microsoft) so that you can open and save these in older versions of Word. Go to Microsoft's web site and you should be able to find a download for this converter.

Right click on the file, select rename
arrow to the end of the filename, then remove the x
It will ask you if you are sure you want to make the change>>click ok.
