You are not committing a crime according to the small amount of information given. I do think you should discuss this with your parents though. They will surely be able to guide you through this. It sounds like you are worried about this so it would be in your best interest to get it resolved. One more thing, I think you can scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on the language that you primarily speak and write. It would be much easier for you to communicate your thoughts if you are talking to people that speak the same language as you do. Good luck just do the right thing and you will be fine.

Well, that depends on your local laws. In the US, you would not be required to report a crime, so you would only be guilty if you were asked by the police about it, and lied, or you in some way assisted your friend in this crime.
Incidentally, now that you know this person stole something, you should be thinking of them as an ex-friend.

I dont know the facts, but I dont believe what your doing is a crime. You should tell someone though. If its a small object that didnt cost much, then its probably not that big of a deal, but still, your friend committed theft, therefore, its a crime. You should tell someone about it right away....
