If you are asking this question, then you must not feel the same way for him.
At this point, you need to really evaluate your friendship and decide where to go from there. If you do not feel the same way about him, you need to tell him, and from there figure out where the two of you stand. If he isn't able to accept that the feeling isn't mutual, he may not be able to continue being friends with you. Once someone confesses love in a situation like this, it is very hard to be "just friends" because that person is going to always want more. Then conflict will arise when you both cannot reach that happy medium.
Either way, you two need a heart-to-heart (literally). He's taking a risk and putting his feelings out there, so you should grant him the same courtesy. I hope the outcome works out the best for both of you!

Thats a tough one, same thing happened to me. I guess your answer should depend on what you feel for him. If you think he's a great guy, and you could love him back in the same way, then let him know. If you guys have a brother/sister friendship, then let him know that you do love him but that you cant love him in the way he does. Be careful with how and what you say because you could end up losing your friend. I told my friend I loved him too, but not the way he loved me, we dont talk the way we used to anymore, but now he's got a great girlfriend who he's in love with and because I love my friend still, I am very happy for him, and wouldn't have done it any differently.

either tell him oh i love you to ( if you love him )then go for the kiss but if you dont say ur so sweet but we were meant to be frineds not lovers theres nothing i would like more to get close to u but not so sudden i mean this is just so overpowering ( if he takes it badly tell him that you guys will still be frineds) and if he takes it well then give him on the cheek so that he knows you still care for him!

You guys are friends so go out you never know what'll happen I went out with one of my best guy friends and we're still good friends just go out if you like him but don't let him take complete control be safe ya know what i mean?

If he's your 'very best friend', there's a reason that he is.
