how do i use my new pendulum?

i just got my new pendulum from magickal cat online,and i didnt recieve no instructions to how to use it.i know that there are websites that tells you how to use it though,but i want an opinion from you all on answers pls.thanks ahead of time for your answers!

"The Pendulum is an ancient divination tool used as far back as 2000 BC by the Egyptians, Hebrews, Chinese and many other cultures. How a Pendulum works?
Some believe that it bridges the gap between the left side (analytical) of the brain and the right side (intuitive) and actually allows the access into the storehouse of information--Universal Mind, also called the Akashic Records.
Others believe that the pendulum allows the Dvine to came to help the people who ask for help to be revealed through the pendulum.

To use a Pendulum. Prepare as you would for a meditation if you can, otherwise just wash your hands, clear your mind, calm your emotions, and take a few deep breaths.
Hold the pendulum by its chain or cord using your thumb and index finger. Simply let it hang and experiment by gently swinging it back and forth, up and down, clockwise and counterclockwise.

Ask the pendulum which direction means yes, relax, let it swing, and then ask which direction means no. . .

"Maybe" could be indicated as a movement in a third direction--up/down, or to the front and back--or as "no"; thus, "no" could realy mean "no," or "not now," please verify.
When you receive unclear answer(s) for your question don't give up--rewrite your queston(s), make them clearer and/or more specific, or please check again sometimes later when you can be calmer and not in a hurry, for example.
Once you have determined the direction of yes and no, you are ready to ask your questions and receive the answers. Keep your questions to a simple yes or no answer until you feel comfortable working with this great tool.

Before using for a first time, or after long time of disuse, remember to purify your pendulum and pray for its blessing. Always remember to use pendulum to answer your own questions only; do not inturde on privacy of others without their permission and a clearance from their Guidance. Yeah, we use one all the time, in conjunction with listening to the "inner voice". When I can't feel that warmth and peace inside for a question (because I'm not in tune or can't be objective), I use a pendulum. The trick with using a pendulum is you need to be VERY specific about your questions. For instance, we wanted to find out the sex of our baby. We asked, "Is it a boy?" (No.) "Is it a girl?" (No.) Then I suggested to my husband to ask, "Does it have XX chromosomes?" (No.) "Does it have XY chromosomes?" (Yes.) So, I guess the TRUTH was that the foetus was neither a "boy" or a "girl" but was of non-specific gender with the chromosomal potential to become a boy. Other common problem questions may be... "Should I ...?" This works some of the time, and some of the time it doesn't because in some cases there is a range of "right answers." If you take the first "yes" you get, you might be short-changing yourself. The most important thing with using a pendulum is to think out all the possible solutions and ways of asking the questions in your head, and ask all of them. That way you'll eventually get the best guidance.... ie, use heart AND mind. Also, to be on the safe side it's always a good idea to pray to God or benevolent spirit guides before you ask a question, to ensure that it's angels who are answering you, and not some rogue negative entity. And it's nice to say a prayer of thanks, at the end, too. That should help ensure that your answers are coming from the right spiritual source. Also, I once had a pendulum that was energetically damaged, and I found it very hard to use. I have found that the clearer the crystal is, the clearer the answer will be. Some pendulums are excellent, some are just mediocre.

First of all, understand that it is just a medium of communication between you (conscious mind) and your subconscious.
Get a piece of paper, a pen, and a notebook. Draw a big circle on the piece of paper and quadrisect it with 2 lines (in half 1 way, then the other), like a really big set of crosshairs. This is your aiming guide so that it will be easier for you to make out which direction your subconscious is controlling your hand to make the pendulum swing.

Hold the pendulum in your left hand (if you are right-handed; otherwise flip these directions (right = left, left = right) ), with your elbow on a surface and the piece of paper on that same surface (table or whatever), in such a way that the bottom tip of the pendulum almost touches the center of the 'crosshairs'. Flip open the notebook, have the pen in your right hand, and write:
"Which direction is: 'Yes.' ?", and when you get an answer (the pendulum moves, swinging over and over in one direction or another), mark it with arrows. Then write:
"Which direction is: 'No.' ?", and when you get an answer mark it with arrows. Then write:
"Which direction is: 'I don't know.' ?", and when you get an answer mark it with arrows. Then write:
"Which direction is: 'I don't want to answer.' ?", and when you get an answer mark it with arrows.

There are four possible directions....
toward you and away from you, left and right, clockwise, and counter-clockwise.

When you've established the answers, take a moment and appreciate how well your subconscious manages most of your life, and how much you love having it as a part of your team.

Then write:
"Do you know that I love you?", and when you get an answer, write it down (" yes, no, etc").

Now you are ready for a REALLY interesting journey. Do you have psychic abilities? Are they managed by your subconscious?
Can you get so used to communicating with your subconscious that you outgrow the need to use the pendulum?

i would recommend cleansing it first under the full moon..or new moon.. i can't remember.. You might want to look it up. Then infuse it with your energy by holding onto it and say that you only want to ask questions to your spirit guide...or whoever it is you want to ask questions to that way not just anyone can come in. Then instruct the person your asking the question to how you would like to answer your question. For instance, personally when i ask a question and the answer is no I tell them to make the pendulem swing right to left and when the answer is yes to swing up and down. Then i hold my pendulem at the top and allow it to become still, and then i ask my questions. Simple as that. and like the girl above me said you can make the pendulem swing too so you must be careful to not inflict your desires onto the answer you receive. JUst allow whatevers coming through to come through. It may not be the answer you want, but its an answer nonetheless.

First get some special incense oil and annoint it first. And make sure you tell the pendulum that it is you that is annoiting it.

After anointing, start asking small questions first, then go to the big ones after.

Just don't answer yes and no questions, but ask it any questions cause it can tell you most of the time.

But don't force it, or ask the same question over and over, or the pendulum will get nasty.

Grasp the chain in your fingers, hold the pendulum over the palm of your other hand, and ask it to show you yes, and no either out loud or in your head.

Suspend it above a flat surface and ask questions. The energies coming through you will make it move backward and forward and side to side. You will have to determine what means yes and what means no as they are all different.Going in a circle usually means don't know or maybe.

a quick tip, take a regular AA duracell like battery, place it under negative, then after positive, it will move differently in each + or - , the answers for questions you ask will be + yes, - no ;)
