Yeah, anything that you like that you know somethin about. A favorite hobby (you can tell how to do it, the history of it, and how you got into it or somethin like that), tell about a famous person -- they can be alive or dead. As long as you got three or more points on them. A sport. Anything.

I did mine on photography. I informed the class of different photography techniques, which I found online.

I took a bunch of pictures and made a power point presentation, which helped my grade because I had some visual aids.

More importantly -- surely you have something that you love doing, whatever it may be. If it's a topic that you're not familiar with, then you'll be nervous and screw up.

And controversial topics are old -- dont' do those. Everyone else in the class is probably going to pick something like that, so be unique! If you show creativity then your professor will really appreciate it.

What is an informative speech topic?
Is it something for you talk about..

If you`ve got a speech, you need to start with a joke, how about the one where this bird is holding pinochios face between her legs shouting "lie to me" at the top of her voice,
Now, you need some sexist remarks about your bosses secetary, then some general racism, comments on how you hate poor/ stupid/ poor and stupid people. Then, moving on to homophobia. Ending with you belching the national anthem.

That will have insulted just about everyone..

p.s. if your making your speech infront of kiddies or something, better forget what i said unless your trying to lose your job.

Do something controversial. Like the importance of availability of birth control or abortions for teens. You can even do the opposite - it gets the class riled up and you will most definitely get an A.

You could do this on many things:

Someone famous or important
A favorite or classic movie
Something in history such as a war, civilization, etc.
Important scientific discoveries
A book

I did mine on xenotransplantation. It's where they take animal organs and implant them into humans. Very fascinating stuff.
