And before any of you radical feminists say its because men are stupid, just take a look the next time you see and ad break.

A guy will made to look dumb or ignorant, by either a kid, another guy, for stupidities sake or by a woman. However when you see a woman made a fool of, it won't be by a woman.

I'm all for sexual equality in every aspect of life, but the last time I understood it, equality means that men and women can be made to look foolish by the opposite sex. Seems funny that the least little thing that shows a woman getting one over a man is completely acceptable but the reverse is taboo.

Serious constructive answers only please...if you can.

it depends on the market segment that the advertisers are targeting.
Guts never look stupid in fitness commercials or Gillette commercials!

That's the funniest thing I've read yet this morning. ha The new trend in advertising to men is to make them feel bad about themselves like they do us women. All we see here where I live is one ad after another for the Bow-flex with some lame guy on there singing it's praises and telling everyone what a loser he was before he looked a certain way. Then there's ALL those weight lose programs now aimed at men too. The male moisturizers and soaps. They're gonna turn y'all into a bunch of insecure b*tches before ya know it. Welcome to our world!

As a woman, I agree that way too many ads on tv are demeaning towards men. I watch less and less tv because of it. America is in the mess it is in because of women who don't know how to shut up and let the man do his job. Women are clearly made differently than men. Why can't we all accept this? Just as men are different from women. My husband and I compliment each other by what we do. He is a thinker and can handle long days of taxing work. I am an organizer that can multitask. One not better than the other, we compliment each other.

It's not politically correct for men to get "one over" on a woman.

Also, have you noticed the ads and tv shows which go out of their way to make kids look smarter than their parents?

it's ridiculous.

Remember that most of the people making decisions about advertising are men, so I don't know if you can blame this one on feminists.

I think you're right, but I also think most of the ills of modern society can be directly attributed to television. Especially daytime TV.

It is only socially acceptable to make fun of people that are better than you. Sad but true.
