hi,
For the processor speed and RAM - Right click on the 'My Computer' icon. Then select properties. Make sure the 'General' tag is slected. It says them both there.
For the Hard Drive capacity - Open 'My Computer'. Right Click on the 'C Drive' icon, and select properties. It shows the capacity and used and remaining space, as well as other data.
I hope this helped.

if its a windows system, right-click on the "MyComputer" icon, scroll down and select "properties", and your system's info is displayed right there in front of you.

To check the hard drive capacity, (again on win-98, 2000, Mil, or XP) this time just double-click the "MyComputer" icon, and you'll see a list of drive letters. most of the time the "c" drive is the primary drive, so right-click on the "c" drive icon, scroll down and select "properties", and you'll see not only the capacity, but the percentage of space used to date, along with a pie chart graphic that clearly shows how much disc spae you have-at least on that drive- (some folks have multiple; split, & recovery drives on the same machine, as do I. Hope that helps.

Ram is the purely element you may want to improve. i'd get a minimum of two GB for xp and three GB for vista. the extra memory purely help each little thing run smoother and also you may run more suitable than one software at a time with out your computing gadget slowing down.
