People these days refuse to read. You can really tell who has a literary education and who doesn't by how they write and speak.
And before anyone says "it's just the Internet"....why should the spelling rules change just because you're online? That's ridiculous. I see adults misspelling words that I learned in third grade and I wonder....
The only people who should be allowed to misspell are those who don't know English.
