I don't know...how is "Wendy" perceived? It's a name completely made up by the author of "Peter Pan."

My name, Meaghan, was apparently the most popular girls name of the 80's, but I like to think I'm a little more individualistic and original than this.
I suppose my spelling of it could be also seen to indicate that I am not happy being the same as everyone else and that I'm complicated.
And every time I've looked up the meaning of my name, I got the same answer- 'great and mighty'. I'm not necessarily unhappy with this, but I don't really think I'm that mighty, however great I might be ; )

I agree with the first answer, it depends on the experience. I have a problem with the name amy as well!!! Not to mention anyone i have met with the name Courtney is a psycho and Emily is a whore! no offense to those of you named that who are not, just in my past experience this is what I have found!

Hottest girl in my high school was a Becky. Had the most perfect butt i've ever seen.
Chances are that you're matching names to your own experiences, rather than a worldwide reality.

I think it depends on your experience with that name. I wouldn't consider Amy cute at all, but nerdy and whiny. But that's just because of an early experience I had with an Amy.

I have no idea whether I match my name or not. It is something that I have grown accustomed too and I think that it probably declares me Irish through and through. I hope that it would also that it would describe a person who hates inequality, and wants to help others who are faced with oppression or marginalized by society. My convictions are to aid the vulnerable populations and I have done that for years with firey vehemence. Does that describe Deirdre to you??

Let see, Celery is pale green and trees grow outdoors - so, no, I don't match my name.
