I'm a senior and I just failed Trig with a D+ (1.5% away!) for 1st semester and I'm BUMMED. My overall GPA before this was around a 3.3-3.5 and I've never failed anything else before. I think I've done pretty well gradewise throughout all of high school and I think it would suck if I didn't get in because of this. With this D hanging over my head, what do my chances look like for CSUF? I really don't want to go to a community college.

In reference to acceptance to the university, there are many items that are taken into consideration.

Colleges want to have a whole perspective of potential students. As they want to know your grades, extraciricular activities/service/volunteer in community.

Perhaps you need to contact your guidance counselor, as they would be able to guide.

A GPA of three.0 is the minimum required to follow to any UC college. i'd say that your probability of stepping into u.s. is low. also i do no longer have self belief u.s. recruits human beings for basketball. It lately grew to change right into a branch II college from branch III. although, the purely thanks to ascertain for particular is to follow. Universities do search for variety so admission isn't continually in accordance with grades and attempt ratings by myself. i'm no longer attentive to the CSU admission yet my wager is that 3.0 is perhaps adequate even with the very shown actuality that the campus is impacted so i do not imagine assembly the minimum requirement is adequate, even if that would properly be. As someone has already said, going to a JC and signing up for a move admission assure (TAG) is an option. even with the very shown actuality that this grant you with a 2d probability, you should artwork flat out because you'll want to maintain a minimum of a B average in college.

Don't worry about it. I think my transcript had 2 D's on it. One for sure. At least a C or two on it as well. I made it to a middle of the road UC (the one close to Fullerton).

Provided your SAT score isn't pure crap, with that GPA of yours, you'll be fine. You should be looking at the UC's, unless there's some very special reason you want to go to Fullerton.

The Cal State schools are not that selective. One D will not hurt you. Since your grades are better overall, you could probably even get into a better university.
