Most often referred to as the age of consent...however, even the "age of consent" means different things in different states. It is generally stated that an individual age 16 is old enough to have sex however, do NOT take this as law! Check with the State of Washington before you attempt to engage with a minor even though he or she is over 16.
There is also an issue involving "emancipation" which should not be confused with the "age of consent."
Best bet....contact your local district attorneys office for help in this issue. They won't give you erroneous information that is so important to you!

Actually, I believe so. Sodomy laws and laws mandating statutory rape were watered down significantly when Mike Lowry was governor.
