Okay...politics and party beliefs aside -- is The State of The Union Address still important to our country? Has it grown more-or-less important since Washington deliver the first one in 1790? Do the times and troubles we live in change it's value to the nation or has modern media made it an uneccessary event?

The only people who watch or listen are the die-hard politicos who have already made up their mind about the state of the Union.

It is a nice tradition, but honestly, nobody reeeeally cares much anymore. It's a sad thing.

I don't see the big deal. It's a media circus, with a bunch of asshat "experts" telling me about what I just heard.

I'll read the speech tomorrow on the WhiteHouse web site, and not have to deal with idiots "interpreting" the speech.
