okay, so i am heavily interested in seeing my favorite band in concert. i have an internet friend who has his own solo career and has performed with the band i am interested in. now, he told me that he can get me free tix to the concert, and have an opportunity to meet the band. now, to tell my parents. they havnt met him and dont know i am friends with him. my friend told me that he wouldnt mind talking to them, and told me if worse comes to worse, he could just mail the tickets to me.

am i just talking crazy? will my parents really chop my head off?

As a parent of two children in their early twenties, I would say ask them first. Explain it as you have here. Then if they get mad or upset. Just ask your friend to mail them to you. Now, with that said, do you know this person isn't a psycho, just trying to get your address. How old are you? If not over 17 then I wouldn't even get the tickets. Because there are some really sick people out there. So use common sense and listen to your parents. I know it seems hard and sometimes not fair, but it is the right thing to do.

Still not a good idea. If you have never met him in person, it is a real risk. People aren't always who they say they are. Have him mail the tix and avoid seeing him until you know more about him. Invite him to your house while your parents are home or something of that nature.

If you must meet him, meet him at the concert or ask him to mail the tickets to you. Take one of your parents wilt you to the concert as a precautionary and also so you can build trust with them. It could prove to be a good way to avoid the friend if he wasn't as he seemed to be. Also he will get to meet your parent, and know that you take your parents seriously. Good luck and have fun

NOT A GOOD IDEA...always communicate with your parents...even if you do not believe it, they are concerned about your safety and love you
