Can you reverse an adoption that took place a long time ago? Know someone who actually knows their birth mother and the adoptive parents were bad parents (both now deceased), but he wants his birth mother's name.

Adults can be adopted, so he can request that his birth mother adopt him. That would give him the opportunity to change his last name to her's, and her name would be placed on his new birth certificate.

You can't technically reverse an adoption, but he can legally have his name changed.

Not possible to reverse it-- why doesn't he just change his name??
