This site has them and they don't require a minimum to buy. That I remember.

Not sure about RIT dye. You might want to wait a bit for that since his or her skin will be so sensitive.

I do not know where you could buy plain black onsies in bulk, but the idea of dyeing white ones with RIT dye is a wonderful idea! It is safe for baby* and will most likely be cheeper than hunting down a supplier of pre-dyed onsies and paying the shipping on it! I used the RIT dye when making my 2 year old's Halloween costume one year! Or if you want to save your self all the trouble of dying just use the white onsies.... the paint will show up just as well, if not better on the white background. I love this idea! Hope your shower is tons of fun and good luck! :)
*just be sure you wash them well once or even twice to be safe- and maybe use a sensitive soap like Dreft.

I have looked everywhere for them and could never find them. I know you can get white or patterned ones at Wal-Mart. As far as RIt dye, that's a cute idea. You would need to dye them and then wash them in baby detergent. Still I'm not so sure I'd leave the baby in it. It might not be so bad just long enough to take a pic. Babies skin can be very sensitive.

I've never seen packages of them in stores that comes in various sizes. You can go pretty much anywhere and buy them in pink, blue, yellow, green, white etc for whatever size. I would seriously recommend yard sales for things like this. I purchased a bag full of onsies of all sizes for $3. You could also look on ebay for onsie "lots"
